A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Houston, TX, alongside my brother, by my mom. Sports have always been a significant part of my life. I started playing volleyball in middle school and continued through my senior year of high school. I also gave basketball a shot in middle school and was a cheerleader in high school, which I absolutely loved! It became clear that a career in exercise was my calling.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Texas State University and then pursued a Master's in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science at A&M University - Kingsville.
Upon completing my Master's degree, I dove headfirst into the fitness world and became a personal trainer. As a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine, I am equipped to work with the general healthy public as well as individuals with cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other at-risk populations. Additionally, I am a Certified Nutrition Coach.
My own fitness journey began in 2014, driven by my dogs who needed more exercise. I started like many others, hitting the gym sporadically and feeling super sore, which led to frequent breaks. I spent two years doing random workouts I found on Google and Pinterest, without seeing significant changes. It wasn't until I started my Master's program that I surrounded myself with knowledgeable people and took a class on exercise programming. This helped me understand how to exercise properly, create progressive programs, and finally see results. That's when I fell in love with this lifestyle.
In 2018, I took full control of my diet and nutrition, emphasizing appropriate fueling for my body. Prior to that, I wasn't mindful of my eating habits, often not eating much because I wasn't very hungry. Once I started focusing on my nutrition, this is when I started to see progress. Once I started eating enough food, my energy levels throughout the day and during workouts increased. I learned how to manage hunger and cravings, enjoying foods I love without forcing myself to eat anything I don't like. This approach has allowed me to maintain a balanced and sustainable eating routine that supports both my fitness goals and overall well-being.
In October 2021, I competed in my first bodybuilding competition in the Wellness division. I coached myself through the entire prep and competed in the San Antonio Classic, entering the True Novice and Open classes. I proudly brought home a 3rd place medal in True Novice and placed 7th in Open. It was one of the most fulfilling moments of my life! In July 2023, I competed in my second show and achieved 3rd place in the Open category.
As you can see I live, eat, and breathe fitness. It's an integral part of my daily routine, 365 days a year (well, almost!).
Whether you're looking to transform your body, improve your overall health, or prepare for a competition, I'm here to guide and support you every step of the way.
